The World Athletics Road Running Championships are a two-day festival of road running, taking place within the heart of cities across the world. Mass participants follow directly in the footsteps of the world’s best long-distance runners over 21.095 kilometres.
These championships are soon to include a 5km elite and public mass participation race, together with the possibility of also hosting an elite One Mile World Championships Race as well as a public mass participation One Mile Race accessible for all ages and abilities, with the aim to inspire participation and active living through running. Running on the open road is a passion worldwide and this event inspires current and future runners to lace up their trainers creating a legacy of running and healthy living.

Next Edition: World Athletics Half Marathon Championships – Yangzhou, CHN 13 November 2022 and the inaugural World Athletics Road Running Championships – Riga, LAT 30 September – 1 October 2023
